About Civicom Aid

Civicom Aid is a registered nonprofit Public Benefit Organisation (NGO) in Mombasa, Kenya. We work in Kenya and Uganda. Our Small Business Growth Pathway helps small business owners in Likoni and Moroto in Kenya, and in the "Bangladesh" area of Mombasa (this is a local place name, not the country). We support them through training, mentoring, and access to needed business resources, so they can build a steady livelihood.

About the Role

We are looking for a friendly volunteer to help us raise support for our Small Business Growth Pathway. This is an unpaid, remote role. It suits someone who wants to give their time and skills to a cause they care about. Our team will support you throughout, and we can adjust the pace and workload to fit your availability.

What You'll Do

As our Remote Fundraiser, you'll help us find funding and build relationships with people and organisations who want to support small businesses.

Your Roles

• Help find funding, such as grants, company giving programmes, and individual donors, that fit our business growth work
• Help write funding proposals, donor appeals, and updates on our impact
• Share ideas for reaching out to donors
• Join occasional remote check-ins to share updates and plan next steps

Qualifications

• Interest in fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit work — no experience needed, we will guide you
• Able to work independently and flexibly across time zones
• A real interest in helping people build better livelihoods
• Nonprofit or NGO experience is a bonus, not a must

• Location: Fully remote — open to volunteers anywhere
• Time: Flexible, we'll agree what works for you
• Length: We suggest a short trial period first, so we can both see if it's a good fit. You can continue after that if you'd like to
• Support: You'll work closely with our Executive Director and team, who are there to help you
