    Descrição

Mt. Tamalpais Trail Stewardship Day With Marin Water

Help us improve Upper Cataract Trail, one of the most used trails on all of Mt. Tam! This event will kick off a series of trail stewardship days that will be held on the first Saturday of every month until December (see our volunteer events calendar to get the details of our upcoming events)! At this event we will replace a 22-foot bridge and improve the tread along several stretches of the trail.

We are asking participants to arrive at Rock Spring Trailhead/Parking Lot (Pantoll Rd & W Ridgecrest Blvd (link to map) at 8:45 am for breakfast snacks and sign-in. We will start the day with a safety talk & project overview in the parking lot, then hike to the project sites. Be prepared to hike up to 2 miles round-trip and lift up to 20-30 lbs. Participants will need to provide their own lunches and must wear long pants and good shoes to hike in. The event will conclude at 2 p.m.

RSVP IS REQUIRED! All first-time volunteers must also sign our Volunteer Service Agreement, and all volunteers under 18 must have the form signed by a parent or guardian. All experience levels are welcome! That includes those with no experience with trail work to professionals. We will provide tools, gloves, water but please make sure to bring your own water bottle and a backpack to carry your lunch in! In the case that a Red flag closure is issued (indicating high fire danger) participants will be notified over email that the event is cancelled.
