About Gender Freedom Society:
Gender Freedom Society is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to building an inclusive and supportive community for gender-diverse people. Through education, advocacy and community building, we create spaces where everyone can thrive in their authentic selves.
Candidates for this position must be residents of North America.
Role Summary:
As a (Volunteer) Podcast Host, you will collaborate with the Podcast team to identify and explore timely topics, interview guests, and help grow the podcast’s reach by creating engaging and thought-provoking content that relates to gender identity, gender expression, LGBTQ+ issues, and social justice. The (Volunteer) Podcast Host needs personal experience from the trans/GNC community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary on-air host for the Gender Freedom Society podcast, Transgendered or Gender Non-Conforming preferred.
- Propose episode topics aligned with organizational priorities.
- Conduct interviews with advocates, researchers, community members, and thought leaders.
- Prepare interview questions and episode outlines.
- Record episodes virtually with the help of the Podcast Producer.
- Uphold the organization’s mission, values, and inclusive communication standards.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and storytelling skills.
- Comfortable speaking on mic and facilitating thoughtful conversations.
- Alignment with Gender Freedom Society’s mission and values.
- Ability to prepare for and commit to regular recording schedules.
- Experience with podcasting, interviewing, broadcasting, or public speaking is preferred but not required.
- Must be trans or gender non-conforming.
