Social Visitor Hospice-Fullerton

Silverado Hospice has an ongoing need for volunteers to offer comfort and companionship during the end of life process. Volunteers act as an additional support system for patients and/or their families through the process. They also provide companionship to the patients. Simplistic, but important task such as caregiver relief, playing games, playing music on phone or instrument, reading books, poetry/scriptures, or sitting quietly while holding the hand of a patient are examples of things volunteers can do with the patients. Volunteers will often sit with the patient/family anywhere from 1 to 2 hours on a weekly basis. Additionally, volunteers will receive training so each volunteer can feel confident.

Our hospice volunteers play a critical role in supporting patients. People who have experienced hospice uniquely know how important these weeks and months are for patients and loved ones. It takes a special calling to be with someone when they are dying. With help from people like you, we can ensure that families have a helping hand when they need it most.
