Become a Volunteer at Agape Hospice & Palliative Care

At Agape Hospice & Palliative Care, we believe that compassion is at the heart of hospice. Our volunteers are a vital part of the care team, offering comfort, connection, and kindness to patients and their loved ones during life’s most vulnerable moments.

We are currently seeking in-person Direct Patient Volunteers in Los Angeles and Orange County who can provide emotional support and companionship to our patients, as well as short periods of respite for their caregivers and families.

Whether you're sitting with someone in silence, sharing a story, or helping a caregiver step away for a short break, your presence can bring incredible peace and dignity to those we serve.

What Our Volunteers Do

Some examples of volunteer activities include, but are not limited to:

• Providing companionship and emotional support to patients
• Offering social interaction through reading, conversation, or music
• Participating in dignifying activities such as coloring, puzzles, or memory sharing
• Providing a comforting, supportive presence at the bedside
• Giving caregivers short periods of rest (non-medical related)
• Assisting with light errands or household tasks (when appropriate)
• Supporting community outreach or offering help in our administrative office

Training & Commitment

Agape Hospice & Palliative Care provides comprehensive volunteer training, so no prior experience is necessary—just a compassionate heart and the willingness to help.

We kindly ask for a 3-month minimum commitment in Los Angeles or Orange County, with volunteers visiting at least once a month for one hour. We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your availability.
