Each assignment is unique and varies depending on the patient/family's needs and the volunteer's availability and interests. Some possible assignments may include providing companionship to a patient through compassionate listening, reading aloud, playing games, watching movies/television, holding hands, doing hobbies/crafts and/or journaling. Other assignments aid the caregiver by running errands, doing light housekeeping, cooking and providing respite for a patient while the caregiver attends to his/her own personal needs. Volunteers do not have to provide medical or personal care to the patients and designate when and where they are assigned. We offer opportunities in Lynn, Swampscott, Wakefield, Lynnfield, Stoneham, Somerville, Cambridge, Medford, Malden, Saugus, Revere, Nahant, Danvers, Peabody, Beverly, Wilmington and Arlington, Newton, Allston, Brighton adnd Jamicia Plain.
