Volunteer Prisoner Outreach Advocate (U.S. ONLY)

New Vision Organization, Inc., is a nonprofit 501 (C)(4) organized for Social Welfare purposes, serving MASSACHUSETTS, (ONLY) First-Time Offenders of Any Offense and Civil Rights Violations. NVO Monitors Provisions of Services to Prisoners, including and especially Civil Rights violations. Every effort is made to assist clients, with obtaining Pro Bono Lawyer assistance through extensive research, letter writing, emailing, and making calls to Law Firms and Organizations.

We are not Lawyers, although we do make every effort to recruit and/or consult with knowledgeable attorneys whenever possible, to obtain advise, instruction and/or assistance in possible. NVO consists of volunteers around the country, working to ensure incarcerated men and women serving long-term and life sentences receive the Medical, Psychological, Legal, educational and/or spiritual support requested and needed for prisoners to cope with unrealistic sentences handed down by the courts.

NVO Allies with advocates nationwide, in solidarity to discuss voting rights for all U.S. incarcerated citizens and we try to ensure prisoner’s rights are not violated and that they receive the rehabilitation treatment Dept. of Corrections nationwide, are mandated to provide. NVO is adamantly against Solitary Confinement and Restrictive Housing and fights to bring awareness via social media and Radio Broadcasting, of damaging effects of such punishment. Our philosophical belief is that individuals heal when their treatment is responsive to their needs and outside support is made available to them. We encourage family members to also help in some way.

SERVICES OFFERED

Every Prisoner Outreach Worker will be assigned an individual prisoners and each prisoner’s need may vary. Some may need assistance with contacting the courts or some other state agency. Some may need help with proof reading documents. Others may need assistance with reentry services, such as help with helping the formally incarcerated individuals regain their licenses, driver’s license, housing, food and jobs, etc. Some may provide you with information to submit to artificial intelligence programs such as the CHAT GPT Algorithm to act as a legal scholar and provide legal arguments for the incarcerated. The general purpose of each volunteer outreach worker will be to advocate outside the prison, for our incarcerated clients who cannot advocate for themselves while behind the walls.

We work diligently to help our clients in hopes of positive outcomes. We provide clients with resources they and/or their loved ones may want to contact for assistance, and/or virtual meetings they may wish to attend with other advocates, family members of the incarcerated and political leaders/Law Makers, around Prison Reform Issues. Volunteers also do research for supportive aftercare resources, such as transitional Housing and Employment for Clients who are eventually paroled. NVO does research to obtain resources for free educational & religious correspondence courses for individuals while incarcerated. Advocates conduct themselves in a professional manner maintain boundaries.
