Descrição
Role: Bowling Lane Monitor Volunteer
Purpose:
Assist athletes and coaches during bowling competition by helping keep the assigned lane organized, supporting smooth competition flow, and ensuring athletes have a positive and enjoyable experience.
Responsibilities:
- Report to the assigned lane and check in with the competition staff.
- Welcome and encourage athletes as they arrive at the lane.
- Help athletes understand the lane rotation and when it is their turn to bowl.
- Assist with keeping bowling balls and equipment organized.
- Notify staff on lane mechanical issues.
- Notify staff with any scoring issues.
- Help communicate with staff when assistance is needed.
- Encourage athletes and promote a positive, respectful, and supportive environment.
- Help keep the area around the assigned lane safe and organized.
- Follow all directions from competition staff and respect athlete independence whenever possible.
Volunteer Expectations:
Lane Monitors should be friendly, patient, encouraging, and attentive. The goal is to support the athlete without doing things for them that they can safely do themselves. Volunteers should allow coaches and competition staff to handle coaching, rules decisions, and athlete-specific needs.
