Join Us in Restoring our Land at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center
If you’d like to spend time outdoors helping to conserve and restore our diverse landscape, consider becoming a Volunteer Land Steward.
Volunteers aged 14 and older can participate throughout the year, helping us restore and improve the natural habitat for plants and animals on our beautiful 185 acres of land on the shores of Lake Michigan.
Volunteers assist with removing invasive species, planting, maintaining hiking trails, learning about invasive species and planting habitat for native species, and more.
This is an opportunity to have a lasting effect on our land for generations to come.
Volunteer Land Stewards and staff members work on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9:00am - 12:00pm. Volunteers choose what day works for them, and no experience is necessary. This is a great group volunteer activity as well.
