Position

Volunteer Recruitment and Outreach Representative

The American Red Cross relies on dedicated volunteers to deliver services that help individuals and communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies. We are seeking outgoing and mission-driven volunteers to help expand our volunteer workforce by building awareness of Red Cross volunteer opportunities throughout the community.

As a Community Volunteer Outreach Representative, you will serve as an ambassador for the Red Cross, helping connect community members and organizations with opportunities to support our humanitarian mission.

Possible Responsibilities (You choose your preferred areas of focus)

• Contact community organizations, businesses, schools, service clubs, and faith-based groups by phone and email to introduce Red Cross volunteer opportunities.
• Coordinate and schedule informational presentations about the American Red Cross and its volunteer programs.
• Deliver presentations, either virtually or in person, to community groups and prospective volunteers.
• Help identify and secure opportunities for Red Cross participation in local community events, fairs, and outreach activities.
• Coordinate with current Red Cross volunteers to staff outreach events and presentations.
• Represent the Red Cross professionally while educating community members about our mission and volunteer opportunities.
• Assist with tracking outreach activities and maintaining communication with community partners.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn Red Cross volunteer programs and recruitment resources.
• Passion for humanitarian and community service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable speaking with individuals and groups in person, by phone, and through email.
• Ability to learn and present information clearly and enthusiastically to diverse audiences.
• Organized and dependable, with the ability to coordinate multiple outreach activities.
• Basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office applications.

Time Commitment

• Approximately 4-10 hours per month, depending on outreach activities, events, and preferred schedule.
• Flexible scheduling, with some evening or weekend opportunities if interested in participating in community events and presentations.
