Urgent Volunteer Opportunity - Pet Escort

Volunteer must be:

18 years of age

Promote UH’s mission for pet services and share its purpose

Meet onboarding requirements and orientation

Assist pet handler during visits such as pet bathroom accidents and/or emergencies and notifying Volunteer Services and EVS immediately

Knowledge of caring for animals to promote positive environment and in case pet handler needs assistance

Carry Care Bag on visits at all times

Allow Pet Handler and pet to conduct purpose of visit with patients

Precede pet handler and ask patients if they would like a visit from pet

Be flexible with pet handler and pet schedule if needs are requested unscheduled

Will have same schedule as pet handler/pet

Be friendly, confident and interact with pet handler and pet positively

Must be relaxed, friendly, and confident around pets

Work with variety of animals
