Job Overview:

HHP is looking for a volunteer WordPress Developer & Administrator to join a mission driven non-profit organization

Responsibilities:

• Use a variety of programming languages to create user-friendly responsive mobile web pages
• Maintain, update and improve company websites
• Work on assigned tasks in Trello
• Test and implement WordPress theme and plug-in updates; install, update, and ensure third-party scripts and integrations are functioning properly
• Work in a multidisciplinary team with other professionals
• Design and build the website front-end
• Optimize company website for maximum performance, stability, and scalability
• Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company website
• Respond to incident responses as needed
• Follow brand guidelines
• Make suggestions for better solutions and work collaboratively with colleagues to gather user feedback
• Keep abreast of the latest and emerging technologies
• Attend company meetings and lead as needed (weekly or otherwise)

Requirements:

• One year of proven experience as a WordPress developer (Avada theme experience highly preferred)
• Minimum one year of experience working with PHP / MySQL
• Minimum one year experience with front-end technologies (i.e., JavaScript, HTML and CSS)
• Knowledge of technical SEO principles
• Focus on responsive mobile user experience
• Sense of ownership and pride in your performance
• Knowledge of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Critical thinker and problem-solver
• Team player
• Good time-management skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills (good English speaker and writer)
• Fast and reliable internet connection
• BA in Computer Science or 2 years related work experience
