In-person volunteer opportunity
Join us for a day of service at the Tarrant Area Food Bank to support their efforts in providing access to healthy food to people across our 13-county region of North Central Texas. Founded in 1982, TAFB is now the primary source of donated food for hunger-relief charities and feeding programs, serving 1-million meals each week. Our day of service will take place on:
Date: Friday, May 29
Time: 1pm to 4pm
Location: Tarrant Area Food Bank Distribution Center – 2600 Cullen St., Fort Worth, TX 76107
Volunteers Needed: 18
Volunteer duties: Volunteers will work in the TAFB Quality Control area to sort, inspect, and repack donated products for distribution. Depending on agency needs, volunteers may also be asked to help with pallet wrapping and moving cardboard boxes to the compactor.
Parking: Parking is available in multiple agency parking lots.
This is a climate-controlled indoor activity, so volunteers are encouraged to dress comfortably, and closed toe shoes are required.
Children are welcome to participate with the following TAFB guidelines:
Children ages 12-13 – Require one adult chaperone for every 1-3 children volunteering.
Children ages 14-15 – Require one adult chaperone for every 1-10 youth volunteering.
