Marketing Content Creator, Writer (Volunteer, Remote) — Tell the Stories That Keep Military Families and Pets Together

Our stories are our superpower: joyful reunions, volunteer boarders opening their homes, military families kept whole. We are looking for writers and content creators to turn those stories, plus practical pet-and-military-life topics, into content that grows our audience and moves people to act.

What you will do:

• Write blog articles, stories, and web content from leads, interviews, and program topics we provide
• Create marketing copy for campaigns, newsletters, and social media in our voice
• Help shape an editorial calendar with our Marketing Director
• Turn real reunions and volunteer experiences into compelling, shareable pieces

Who thrives in this role: someone who loves to write and can deliver clean, engaging content on a regular rhythm. Whether your strength is long-form storytelling, punchy social copy, or clear informational writing, there is a place for you here. Journalism, content, marketing, or copywriting experience is a plus but not required; a genuine voice and reliability matter most. Writing samples are welcome with your application.

Dogs on Deployment is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2011 by two military pilots. Through our Hero Pet Boarding Network and financial assistance programs, we make sure no service member ever has to choose between their duty and their pet. You do not need a military background to serve. Our volunteers work in supportive teams with a regular meeting rhythm, real ownership, and a mission you can feel.
