Make a meaningful difference simply by being present.
Hospice companion volunteers provide comfort, companionship, and emotional support to patients facing serious illness and end-of-life care. Volunteers may sit with patients, read aloud, listen to stories, play music, offer respite for caregivers, or simply provide a calm and caring presence.
No medical experience is required, just compassion, reliability, and a willingness to connect with others. Training is provided, and volunteers can choose opportunities that fit their schedule and comfort level.
As a hospice companion volunteer, you can:
- Reduce loneliness and isolation for patients
- Support families and caregivers
- Share conversation, hobbies, music, or quiet companionship
- Bring dignity, comfort, and kindness during an important stage of life
Even a few hours a month can make a lasting impact.
