Volunteer Role Overview

Volunteers will play a key role in ensuring the Wealth Walk runs smoothly and remains welcoming, organized, and high-energy.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing registration and check-in for participants
• Assisting with activation stations (financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and partner engagement stations along the route)
• Supporting event setup, including arches, signage, and activation areas
• Assisting with photo booth setup and participant engagement
• Capturing video content and behind-the-scenes moments for social media and marketing
• Guiding attendees along the walk route and directing foot traffic
• Assisting vendors and partners with basic needs and logistics
• Distributing medals, water, and swag bags at the finish line
• Serving as event ambassadors by answering questions and creating a positive, welcoming environment

Volunteer Responsibilities & Expectations

• Arrive on time and remain for the duration of your assigned shift
• Follow instructions from team leads and event coordinators
• Maintain a professional, positive, and helpful attitude at all times
• Be proactive — if you see something that needs attention, step in or notify a team lead
• Represent The Difference Society with professionalism and energy

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable and punctual
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
• Comfortable engaging with diverse groups including youth, families, and community partners
• Team player with a willingness to support where needed
• Prior event experience is a plus, but not required

Additional Information

• Volunteers may be standing or walking for extended periods
• Comfortable clothing and sneakers are recommended
• This is an outdoor event — please dress accordingly for the weather
• Community service hours can be provided upon request
