TIME COMMITMENT

Flexible based on volunteer availability. Flexibility must meet established deadlines. Approximately 2 to 4 hours per month.

JOB SUMMARY

Help inform and inspire FONWR members and the broader public by creating engaging blog or vlog posts and supporting digital storytelling efforts that increase conservation awareness and connection to Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific duties include:

• Writing or co-writing blog posts or vlog videos highlighting refuge projects, wildlife moments, events, interns, volunteers, and conservation wins
• Taking photos at the refuge for use in digital content
• Assisting with blog promotion
• Other duties as agreed upon by the Executive Director and the volunteer

SKILLS NEEDED

• Basic understanding of digital storytelling or blogging
• Ability to write clearly and engagingly for a public audience
• Good interaction skills

INTER-RELATIONSHIPS

Contact with FONWR staff, FONWR members, volunteers, and the public

WORKING CONDITIONS

• All of the work can be performed off-site with internet access.
• Periodic visitation to the Refuge for photography and inspiration.
