Volunteer Remote Foster Coordinator

We are currently looking for a Volunteer Foster Coordinator to join our team at Chester’s Corner Animal Rescue.

Chester’s Corner Rescue Foundation is a dedicated nonprofit organization specializing in animal rescue and rehabilitation. Our mission is to provide abandoned animals with medical care, emotional support, and a path toward loving, permanent homes. Every effort we make is driven by compassion and a commitment to the welfare of animals in need.

How You Will Contribute:

Purpose:

Manages the foster program pipeline, ensuring animals are placed with qualified fosters safely and efficiently. Serves as the primary point of contact for prospective and active foster volunteers.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and manage emails sent to foster@chesterscorner.org
• Screen and vet potential foster volunteers, assessing experience and home suitability
• Post and advertise animals in need of fostering across approved channels
• Enforce foster program rules and policies
• Serve as the point of contact for foster volunteers regarding questions, issues, or emergencies
• Maintain records of active fosters and animal placements
• Submit all foster approvals to leadership for final review and sign-off

Immediate Ownership:

Manages the day-to-day foster communications and volunteer support independently

Required Qualifications:

• 1–2 years of experience managing fosters or volunteers in a rescue or animal care setting
• Strong professional communication skills (email and phone)
• Ability to enforce rules firmly but respectfully
• Highly self-motivated and able to work independently
• Comfortable managing confidential information
• Must reside in San Jose or the immediate surrounding area
• Must have a working computer with reliable internet

Commitment Details:

• Approximately 2–4 hours per week
• Flexible scheduling
• Fully remote role
