Community Center

BAGLY’s Community Center provides a safe, inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ youth where participants can access health and wellness resources, leadership development opportunities, advocacy programs, social support, and community-building activities.

Community Center Volunteer

This volunteer position reports directly to the Volunteer Manager.

BAGLY’s Community Center Volunteers:

• Provide support for the Community Center by assisting staff, welcoming youth, and helping create a positive and inclusive environment;
• Work with individuals from diverse backgrounds to ensure community members have access to resources, activities, and support services;
• Assist with event setup and coordination and participant engagement while demonstrating strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

Main responsibilities include:

• (85%) Front Desk Staffing: Welcoming youth into the space, guiding them to available resources, and making sure check-in procedures are followed consistently.
• (10%) Program Support: Assisting with program preparation tasks. This may include lifting and moving boxes, sorting and filing items and files, organizing spaces, etc.
• (5%) Other Tasks: Performing general tasks required to maintain smooth and effective Community Center operations.

General Schedule

The following recurring volunteer shifts are available:

• Mon, Tue, Fri | 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM
• Wed | 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM
• Thu | 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Community Center Volunteers may sign up for multiple shifts each week or month depending on their availability and capacity. We prefer volunteers to maintain a consistent schedule if possible.

We ask Community Center Volunteers to commit to a 6-month period in this position, which may be extended by agreement between the volunteer and the Volunteer Manager.
