    About the World Reform Project

The World Reform Project is a community-focused nonprofit dedicated to improving neighborhood cleanliness, curb appeal, and environmental responsibility through organized litter cleanup services and local partnerships. We work directly with property owners, businesses, and community stakeholders to reduce litter violations, improve public spaces, and create measurable neighborhood impact.

    Internship Overview

The Business Development Board Intern will play a key role in expanding the World Reform Project’s litter cleanup services by helping grow and manage our client base. This role combines nonprofit leadership exposure with real-world business development experience and offers a unique commission-based incentive structure tied directly to impact and performance.

Interns will work alongside leadership and advisory board members to identify new clients, build partnerships, and support sustainable service agreements that benefit both the community and participating property owners.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Identify and engage potential clients (businesses, landlords, property owners, and community organizations)
    • Conduct outreach via email, phone, and in-person meetings
    • Assist in presenting litter cleanup services and partnership options
    • Support the creation and maintenance of client records and outreach tracking
    • Participate in board-level strategy discussions related to growth and outreach
    • Provide recommendations to improve client acquisition and retention efforts

    Commission & Incentive Structure

In addition to the unpaid internship experience, interns are eligible for monthly residual commission based on clients they successfully help onboard.

    • Interns earn a percentage-based commission for each client they bring on who enters into a cleanup service agreement
    • Commissions are paid monthly, based on active and paying clients
    • Residual commissions continue for the remainder of the intern’s active school enrollment, as long as the client remains active
    • This structure rewards long-term relationship building while aligning incentives with the nonprofit’s mission and sustainability

(Specific commission percentages and payment terms will be clearly outlined in a written internship agreement.)

    What You’ll Gain

    • Hands-on experience in nonprofit business development and governance
    • Exposure to board-level decision-making and growth strategy
    • Real-world outreach and client engagement experience
    • Resume-worthy achievements tied to measurable impact
    • Monthly residual income potential during your school term
    • Letters of recommendation and internship credit (where applicable)

    • Currently enrolled student or individual in an academic or training program
    • Interest in nonprofit leadership, business development, or community outreach
    • Strong communication and follow-up skills
