Business Relationship Development Manager (Volunteer, Remote) — Help Military Families Keep Their Pets

Military families face impossible choices when deployment orders arrive and there is nowhere for their pet to go. Dogs on Deployment solves that, and businesses love supporting it. We are looking for a volunteer who enjoys opening doors: identifying companies whose values align with our mission, making the introduction, and building relationships that grow into sponsorships and partnerships.

What you will do:

• Research and identify businesses aligned with military families, pets, or community giving
• Reach out to prospects using our ready-made templates and your own relationship-building instincts
• Nurture conversations from first contact toward sponsorship, handing formal agreements to our leadership
• Track your pipeline in our shared tools and share wins at team meetings

Who thrives in this role: someone with experience in sales, business development, partnerships, or account management, who is comfortable reaching out to new people and enjoys turning a warm conversation into real support for a mission. We provide templates, talking points, training, and a supportive team behind you.

Dogs on Deployment is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2011 by two military pilots. Through our Hero Pet Boarding Network and financial assistance programs, we make sure no service member ever has to choose between their duty and their pet. You do not need a military background to serve. Our volunteers work in supportive teams with a regular meeting rhythm, real ownership, and a mission you can feel.
