Help provide assistance to shelter residents during a time of crisis!
Volunteers are needed to assist at shelters before, during or after a disaster event.
Training is virtual and self-paced. Mandatory background checks.
You would be deployed for a minimum of 14 days, working 8-12 hour shifts.
- Shelter Associatesupport the day to day activities, which may include helping in reception , registration, feeding, dormitory, information or other areas within the shelter. Must be able to lift 20 lbs; stand or sit for 2 hour periods, walk 2 miles, work outdoors in inclement weather, climb 2 flights of stairs, work long periods on computer and/or small print; drive in daytime or night.
- Disaster Health Servicessupport the health services of a shelter. Some duties will include: hands on care; health education; health assessments; assist clients to replace medications, durable medical equipment; advocate for clients' needs and support maternal and child needs. Must be licensed (RN, LPN, LVN, EMT, MD, PA, or similar health licenses)
