    Descrição

Posterity International is seeking a Communications Officer to help shape how our organization, programs, perspectives, and impact are communicated to audiences around the world.

This is an opportunity for a strong writer and strategic communicator interested in nonprofit communications, public relations, international affairs, humanitarian action, human rights, and international development to take meaningful ownership of external communications within a growing international nonprofit.

Working closely with organizational leadership and collaborating across research, marketing, social media, and graphic design, the Communications Officer will help translate complex initiatives and global issues into clear, compelling, accurate, and audience-conscious communications.

    What You'll Do

    • Draft and edit press releases, organizational announcements, newsletters, website copy, statements, and other external communications
    • Identify relevant journalists, publications, podcasts, and earned-media opportunities
    • Develop media pitches and communications materials for programs, campaigns, events, and organizational developments
    • Build and maintain organized media contacts and outreach records
    • Support responses to media and external inquiries in coordination with leadership
    • Develop talking points, key messages, organizational descriptions, and briefing materials
    • Strengthen consistency in Posterity International's organizational voice and external positioning
    • Collaborate with researchers to ensure public communications are accurate and evidence-based
    • Coordinate with marketing, social media, and graphic design team members around campaigns and organizational priorities
    • Identify creative opportunities to expand awareness of Posterity International and its work

    Who We're Looking For

Strong candidates will have excellent writing and editing skills and an interest or background in communications, public relations, journalism, international affairs, nonprofit communications, or a related field. Familiarity with media relations, newsletters, press releases, or communications strategy is valuable but not required.

More importantly, we are looking for someone who combines creativity with judgment. You should be dependable, proactive, attentive to detail, comfortable taking ownership of assignments, and capable of adapting messaging for different audiences.

Because Posterity International works on sensitive humanitarian and human rights issues, candidates should approach communications involving conflict, displacement, violence, and affected communities with accuracy, dignity, and care.

    What You'll Gain

You'll gain substantive experience in nonprofit communications, media relations, public positioning, organizational messaging, and international nonprofit operations. You'll have opportunities to develop professional communications materials while collaborating across research, marketing, advocacy, fundraising, programs, and leadership.
