    Descrição

    Virtual Zoom Co-Host

Almost everything we do happens on Zoom - peer support circles, meditations, meetups, and workshops. Right now one person is running the tech, watching the chat, tracking time, greeting arrivals, and leading the session all at once. That's a lot to hold, and it means the person leading can't be fully present with the group.

    What you'll do

    Before

    • Open the room 10 minutes early, test audio and screen share, load any slides or timers
    • Check in with the lead facilitator on anything specific for that session

    During

    • Admit people from the waiting room, including latecomers, so the lead never has to break flow
    • Monitor chat - answer logistics questions, drop links and resources, flag anything the lead should see
    • Manage breakout rooms, muting, spotlighting, and recording (when the session is one we record)
    • Keep time and give the lead quiet signals at agreed marks
    • Troubleshoot participant audio and video issues by private message
    • Step in to hold the room if the lead drops from the call

    After

    • Log attendance in our tracker
    • Pass along any follow-ups, resource requests, or concerns to staff
    • Save and file recordings where applicable

    What you won't do

You are not facilitating, and especially not in peer support. You won't lead discussion, give advice, respond to disclosures, or handle a participant in crisis on your own. Those belong to the lead facilitator and staff, and we'll train you on exactly what to do and who to contact when something comes up. If you find yourself wanting to jump in and help someone, that's a good instinct and the wrong role - talk to us about facilitator training instead.

    Requirements

    • Reliable - this is the single most important quality. Sessions run whether or not you show up, and the facilitator plans around you
    • Confident with Zoom's host controls, or willing to learn in a training session
    • Stable internet and a quiet space
    • Confidentiality agreement required. Participants share personal, sometimes difficult things about their mental health and their businesses. What's said in the room stays in the room, and that includes who was in it

    What we provide

    • Onboarding training, plus a shadow session before you co-host live
    • Written run-of-show for each session type and an escalation protocol
    • Zoom co-host credentials and the attendance tracker
    • Monthly volunteer check-ins (virtual)
    • Documented hours and a named reference after three months
