Join Girls Inc. of Los Angeles as a classroom volunteer!
Bring your boldest self to empower girls to discover their inherent strengths and mentor girls on making informed decisions while having fun.
In-class volunteers support instructors with weekly activities in our classrooms once or twice a week between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm, 2 to 3 hours a day. Girls Inc. proudly serves girls in twelve LAUSD schools located in the South and West Los Angeles area.
Volunteers will be required to complete LAUSD and Girls Inc. requirements as follows:
- Complete a volunteer application.
- Attend a Zoom volunteer meeting to learn about Girls Inc. programs and the volunteer role.
- A Livescan background screening. (fee covered by applicant)
- A TB test with submission of a negative result. (fee covered by applicant)
- Complete an approved LAUSD online volunteer-mandated reporter training.

How to apply:
Girls Inc. of Los Angeles is offering classroom volunteer opportunities. Your contribution as a positive role model helps girls build confidence and skill sets to achieve their academic goals. To volunteer, please complete a volunteer application linked here or visit: https://girlsincla.org/become-a-volunteer .
Commitment Requirements :
Volunteers must be available to support weekly, once or twice a week. A one-semester commitment or a minimum of six consecutive weeks is required.
- Spring opportunity starts January - May. ( 15 weeks)
- Fall opportunity starts September- December. ( 10 weeks)
Volunteer Requirements: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
Volunteers will be required to complete LAUSD and Girls Inc. requirements as follows:
- Complete a Girls Inc. Volunteer Application.
- Attend a Zoom Volunteer orientation to learn about Girls Inc. programs and the volunteer role.

- Complete volunteer-mandated reporter training.
- School Safety Orientation via Zoom.
Program Schedules & Locations:
Girls Inc. programs are offered after school on Monday through Thursday only. Locations are available in West and South Los Angeles. Mentorship support is highly desired to help South Los Angeles classrooms.
