When your days are dark and cold warm your heart by bringing sunshine to hospice patients. Hold a hand, lend a listening ear, bring your smile to one who is struggling.

Become a remote or in person hospice volunteer, give back to someone who is on life's most difficult journey. Sitting up at night not being able to sleep take out your pens and paper or art supplies and make a card or write a note to a hospice patient. Tell them something beautiful that you can see out your window, tell them that the sun coming up every morning brings a new promise. Write about your pet, a book you read, a poem. In thinking of one good thing to write your heart will open and your spirit heals. For the patients they feel your connection and care, they can soak in the beauty of the card or the note as it sits on their bedside table, they show it to family, friends. When you settle down to go back to sleep or start your day you can feel you have accomplished something with your day and that is the start of a good day.
