    Descrição

RESULTS advocates are working toward a world where every child—no matter where they are born—has the chance to grow up healthy, learn, and build a bright future.

Around the world, proven global health and nutrition programs are already saving lives by delivering lifesaving vaccines, improving child nutrition, and expanding access to basic health care.

But progress is fragile. Millions of children still lack these basic supports, and last year, for the first time this century, the number of children dying before their fifth birthday increased.

The decisions the U.S. Congress makes about global health and nutrition programs will help determine whether these lifesaving efforts reach the children and families who need them most. Advocates like you can help shape that.

That’s why we’re growing a stronger network of advocates in Nebraska and inviting new leaders to help bring the voices and values of their communities directly to Congress.

Build Relationships That Influence Global Change

At RESULTS, advocacy isn’t about sending one message and hoping for change. It’s about building respectful, ongoing relationships with the staff and elected officials who shape policy.

Our volunteers work together to build relationships with congressional offices, share their values, and advocate for global policies that save lives and expand opportunity.

Many advocates grow into a leadership role we call a Congressional Point Person, helping coordinate communication with a congressional office and build a strong, ongoing relationship with that office over time.

You don’t need prior experience. We provide the training, support, and community to help you grow into this role.

    Issues You’ll Advocate For

RESULTS advocates work to strengthen U.S. leadership in global efforts that reduce poverty and expand opportunity, including:

    • Expanding access to lifesaving vaccines and health care
    • Supporting maternal and child health programs
    • Improving global nutrition programs that prevent child malnutrition
    • Strengthening the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria
    • Expanding access to education and economic opportunity worldwide

Develop Skills That Create Real Impact

Through hands-on advocacy, you’ll learn how to:

    • Communicate effectively with members of Congress and their staff
    • Write persuasive media that shapes public conversation
    • Speak powerfully about global solutions to poverty
    • Invite others in your community to take action

    You Don’t Need Advocacy Experience

Most RESULTS advocates begin with no policy or advocacy background.

We provide training, mentorship, and a supportive community that will help you learn how to build relationships with decision-makers and advocate effectively.

    How to Get Started

New volunteers begin with a New Advocate Orientation, followed by a short self-paced advocacy training series where you’ll learn the foundations of advocacy and take your first actions.

After completing the training, you’ll continue to receive hands-on mentoring and support from experienced RESULTS staff.

    Your Voice Matters

Members of Congress make better decisions when they hear directly from the people they represent.

If you’re ready to grow your leadership and help build a future where everyone can thrive, we’d love to connect with you.
