    About Ember Rising

Ember Rising is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through life skills literacy, holistic wellness, creative expression, and community service. Our work focuses on building confident, capable individuals while strengthening communities through education, wellness, arts, and service.

    Position Overview

The Outreach & Marketing Specialist supports Ember Rising’s external operations, including organizational communications, outreach efforts, and public-facing messaging. This role plays a key part in increasing program visibility, strengthening community engagement, and maintaining consistent, mission-aligned branding across platforms.

This position is ideal for marketing, communications, public relations, or digital media majors seeking real-world experience in nonprofit communications. The role may be completed as a volunteer position or academic internship and is eligible for college credit, subject to approval by the student’s academic institution.

    • Contribute to social media content creation, scheduling, and engagement
    • Support visibility for programs, events, and campaigns through coordinated messaging
    • Assist with community engagement efforts, including responding to inquiries or feedback as appropriate
    • Track basic engagement metrics and support reporting or reflections (as required for academic credit)

Learning Outcomes (Marketing & Communications Focus)

    • Participants may gain experience in:
    • Organizational communications and public messaging
    • Brand consistency and mission-driven storytelling
    • Outreach strategy and audience engagement

    • Ember Rising can serve as an approved internship site and provide supervision, learning objectives, evaluations, and required documentation
    • Weekly hours and responsibilities may be adjusted to meet academic requirements
    • Academic credit is awarded by the student’s college or university, not by Ember Rising
