Wanted: Volunteer Receptionist

Are you passionate about mental health and serving your community? We are seeking compassionate and dependable volunteers to support our Bronx community hub serving individuals accessing mental health and social services.

Our community hub helps support those facing mental health challenges through an abundance of social services, by supporting New Yorkers on their journey to improve their mental health and well-being.

The Volunteer Receptionist will assist at the lower level of the hub which generally has a low to medium flow of visitors throughout the business hours of Monday – Friday, 9a-5pm. The Volunteer Receptionist will help with the following:

• Sign in on the Visitor Log all visitors/clients who come to the lower level
• Contact the program/host receiving the visitor/client via the office phone
• Direct visitors to the waiting area after receiving confirmation of their appointment/visit
• Monitor whoever comes in and ensures they are signed out upon exit
• Ensure staff presents their employment identification upon entering
• Request that staff without identification sign in on the Visitor Log
• Accept deliveries and subsequently notify an onsite Supervising Office Manager for retrieval
