Role Overview
As a Caregiver Support Volunteer, you will provide companionship to hospice patients while their caregivers take time to rest, run errands, or attend to personal needs. This role offers meaningful support to both patients and their caregivers during a demanding and emotional time.
Volunteer Activities May Include:
- Sitting with patients to provide supervision and companionship
- Offering reassurance and emotional presence
- Engaging in conversation or quiet activities based on patient preference
This role does not involve hands-on care or medical tasks.
Volunteer Requirements:
- Completion of orientation and short training
- Consent to a federal and state background check
- TB blood test (covered by Suncrest Hospice)
- Two forms of identification
- Current auto insurance
