We need volunteers for our Visual Storytelling Workshop Series at The Village Workspace (7173 S Havana St #100, Centennial)! This series introduces youth in foster care to the fundamentals of filmmaking while strengthening one of the most important creative skills of all: the ability to tell a compelling story through visuals. Youth will learn how to express themselves creatively through video as an additional outlet for communication, confidence-building, and self-expression.
The purpose of these workshops is for kids to learn a new skill, use art to express themselves, and be a part of an awesome community of youth who have experienced foster care and/or other out of home placements. We are meeting at The Village on Saturdays, March 7th-28th from 10:30am-2:00pm. These are free drop-off events for youth ages 9-14, Lunch will be provided.
If you are interested in volunteering for the visual storytelling series, please be available to commit to at least two of the four sessions. We want this group of young people to be able to connect with our volunteers as well!
Volunteer duties include supervision of the kids (making sure they are safe), participating in the activities with them, and helping to set up/clean up before and after the event. We love our volunteers! Volunteers must be at least 18 and pass a background check.

- Visual Storytelling Workshop Series (Week 2): Saturday March 14, 2026 - 10:30am to 2:00pm
- Visual Storytelling Workshop Series (Week 3): Saturday March 21, 2026 - 10:30am to 2:00pm
- Visual Storytelling Workshop Series (Week 4): Saturday March 28, 2026 - 10:30am to 3:00pm

Thank you so much for your interest in becoming an Elevating Connections volunteer! We cannot do any of the important work that we do without our volunteer family. After submitting your information on Idealist, these are the next steps in becoming an EC volunteer:
- An EC staff member will reach out to you in 24-72 hours to provide you with our volunteer application link. It is a pretty quick application.
- Once we receive your completed application, we will review it.
- We will reach out to schedule a virtual interview. This is an opportunity to learn more about you, answer any questions you may have, and tell you about our programs and volunteer opportunities. The virtual interview usually takes 20-30 minutes.
- After the interview, you will be asked to complete a background check and review some training materials before you volunteer for your first event.
