CARES Northwest (Child Abuse Response and Evaluation Services) is a collaborative community-based medical program for the prevention, assessment and treatment of child abuse. We provide a safe, child-friendly environment for the assessment of children for whom there are concerns of physical or sexual abuse, neglect and exposure to domestic violence. Volunteers serve in Child/Family Support by staffing our waiting rooms M-F and offer support to children and families while they are in the clinic. Volunteers are needed for 4-hour shifts, once per week. We have 2 locations that need volunteers. Our newest location at Family Peace Center in Beaverton and our main clinic in Portland on the Emanuel campus. www.caresnw.org/volunteer
Volunteers will be provided training, will need to complete background checks and free immunization screenings before working with children.
