Every donated item that comes through Riverbank’s warehouse has the potential to become part of someone’s home—and we need helping hands to keep it all organized!
The Riverbank Organization is looking for Warehouse Organization Volunteers to help us sort, organize, and prepare donated furniture, household essentials, baby items, and other necessities for individuals and families experiencing crisis throughout Southern California.
Our warehouse is the heart of our operation. Keeping it organized helps our team quickly identify what we have available and get needed items into the hands of families rebuilding after homelessness, domestic violence, trafficking, foster or kinship involvement, and other difficult circumstances.
What You’ll Help With
- Sorting and organizing incoming donations
- Keeping designated warehouse areas clean and organized
- Categorizing household goods and other donated items
- Preparing items for upcoming pickups and deliveries
- Helping identify and organize available inventory
- Light moving and rearranging of items as you are comfortable/able
- Occasionally assisting with donation intake and general warehouse projects
You do not need previous warehouse experience! We’re simply looking for dependable people who are willing to jump in, stay organized, and help.
Who We’re Looking For

- Want to directly support families in your community
- Can work independently or alongside a small team
We welcome individual volunteers as well as friends, families, church groups, corporate teams, and community groups.
Time Commitment
We’re flexible! Whether you can volunteer once, occasionally, or become a regular part of our warehouse team, we would love to hear from you.
Our warehouse generally operates Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with other days sometimes available by arrangement.

No previous warehouse or volunteer experience is required—just a willingness to help! Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes when volunteering.
Because Riverbank works with individuals and families experiencing sensitive circumstances, volunteers who are scheduled to serve will be asked to review, sign, and return our Volunteer Agreement and Waiver before volunteering. This helps us protect the privacy and safety of the individuals we serve, as well as our volunteers and organization.
