Lifesaving Team Volunteer
Detalhes
Descrição
The Lifesaving Team Volunteer provides flexible administrative, logistical, and hands-on support to Kitty Bungalow’s Lifesaving Team. Volunteers may work remotely, on-site, or a combination of both, depending on their interests, availability, training, and the team’s needs.
Key areas of support include:
- Foster Program: Communicating with foster families, coordinating pickups, returns and appointments, preparing supplies, and helping with foster follow-up.
- Medical & Administrative Support: Entering medical and surgery information, organizing veterinary and shelter records, assisting with data entry, paperwork, and other administrative projects.
- Animal Movement & Records: Updating ShelterLuv, tracking animal locations and transportation, and ensuring movement and care information is accurate and communicated to staff.
- On-Site Support: Organizing supplies, cleaning carriers and work areas, assisting with animal handling, transportation, and providing additional support during busy foster, intake, and medical days.
- Cross-Department Support: Occasionally assisting other Kitty Bungalow programs with transportation, foster coordination, adoption events, and other organization-wide activities.
Ideal Volunteer
The ideal volunteer is reliable, organized, communicative, independent, and comfortable working with cats and kittens. Experience with animal rescue, fostering, veterinary care, neonatal kittens, administration, or ShelterLuv is helpful but not required. Volunteers must be willing to learn Kitty Bungalow procedures, follow staff direction, maintain confidentiality, and safely handle animals within their training.
Role Boundaries
This is a support role. Volunteers do not independently make medical, intake, foster-placement, behavioral, or other Lifesaving decisions. Medical care and medications must always be performed under the direction of authorized staff and within the volunteer’s approved training level. Responsibilities and system access will be tailored to each volunteer’s training, experience, availability, and assigned duties.
