About the Role:
As a Motion Designer, you will play a pivotal role in bringing ideas to life through engaging animations and motion graphics across various platforms. Your primary responsibility will be to design and produce high-quality motion graphics, animations, and videos that enhance branding, storytelling, and audience engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Create Animated Content:
- Design and develop short animations, explainer videos, and motion graphics for various platforms, including social media, websites, and presentations.
- Create visually appealing animations that effectively convey Vahati’s mission and messages.
- Create and edit both short and long format videos (Youtube videos, gifs, bumper ads, doodles, for social media or digital ads)
Support Awareness Campaigns:
- Collaborate with the communication and marketing teams to create animations for campaigns, fundraising drives, and volunteer recruitment efforts.
- Develop animated visuals for events, workshops, and presentations.
Brand Storytelling:
- Assist in crafting animated narratives that highlight the Vahati’s impact, beneficiaries’ stories, and program successes.
- Ensure alignment with the brand and visual identity in all animations.
Collaborate with Teams:
- Work closely with graphic designers, content writers, and program leads to conceptualize and execute projects.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate creative ideas for animated projects.
Contribute to Innovation:
- Experiment with new animation styles and techniques to elevate visual content.
- Stay updated on animation trends and suggest innovative approaches to storytelling.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Animation, Motion Graphics, Visual Effects, Media Arts, or a related field.
- Proficiency in animation and video editing software, such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Blender, Cinema 4D, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of storytelling, character design, and motion design principles.
- Ability to create animations in both 2D and 3D is a plus.
- Excellent understanding of video compression and optimization for the web.
- Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for using animation to inspire change.
- Proven ability to take ownership of projects, from concept to completion, and deliver quality work within deadlines.
- Strong understanding of animation principles, visual storytelling, and typography.
- Basic understanding of social media platforms and how animated content performs on them.
- Must have - A portfolio showcasing diverse motion design work, including 2D/3D animation, and multimedia projects.

Collaboration Model:
- Trial Period: The initial engagement will run until March, focusing on a project to be launched in celebration of Women’s Day.
- Extension: Based on performance and mutual agreement, the engagement may be extended to a full time role to support Vahati's ongoing initiatives and related for-profit ventures.
