Professionals Who Care: We are Professionals Who Care, an emerging organization focused on the inclusivity of caregivers in the workplace.

The Struggle: Employed caregivers face overwhelming challenges while balancing the needs of a loved one and career responsibilities at the same time. They are an overlooked identity, with caregivers facing significantly higher levels of financial, social, family, physical health, and mental health difficulties. An inclusive workplace is a significant factor that determines the outcomes and well-being of employed caregivers. It is a place that does not discriminate or marginalize a professional based on their caregiver status. It is a place that creates policies to promote the flexibility and supports that caregivers need - without penalizing caregivers for using them. It is a place that understands a caregiver's ability to balance work & caregiving are essential to both the health and well-being of the caregiver - and the health and well-being of the person receiving the care.

The Hope: We also believe caregivers are amazing leaders and employees in the workplace for all the soft and hard skills they have gained in caring for someone who is disabled, aging, injured, or ill. We believe there is significant growth possible for employers, supervisors, human resource, and colleagues to contribute to an inclusive workplace. We believe that a community of support and a voice will make a difference for employed caregivers.

Additional Details: We celebrate each step to bring a light and change to the hidden crisis in the workplace. We are interested in diversity and representation of all types for employed caregivers, and we welcome everyone to apply.
