Volunteer Compliance & Privacy Assistant

Salix Compass is building privacy-conscious, secure workflows to support medication access and nonprofit operations. We are seeking a volunteer who can help us keep our compliance, privacy, and documentation practices organized and current.

Description

This role supports the systems and documentation that help Salix Compass operate safely and responsibly. Volunteers may help review and organize compliance-related materials, support HIPAA-aware workflow documentation, and keep internal privacy and recordkeeping practices current.

This is a strong fit for someone who is detail-oriented, careful with sensitive information, and interested in healthcare privacy, compliance, or information security. The work is remote and flexible, and it directly supports the infrastructure behind our patient access mission.

Responsibilities

• Help review and organize compliance-related documents.
• Assist with HIPAA-aware workflow documentation.
• Support internal privacy, access, and recordkeeping practices.
• Help maintain policy and procedure materials.
• Assist with general compliance organization and follow-up.

Time commitment

About 2 to 5 hours per week, flexible and remote, with occasional higher activity when policies or workflows are being updated.

Qualifications

• Interest in privacy, compliance, healthcare administration, or information security.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.
• Comfort working independently.
• Prior experience in HIPAA, healthcare compliance, data protection, or related work is a plus.
