- Maintain The Flame of Liberty Memorial, a tribute built and dedicated in 2019 that honors active US military service members, veterans, first responders and two local 9/11 heroes: Todd Beamer and Mark Bingham.

Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and personable Volunteer Event Support & Outreach Assistant to help us bring visibility
and recognition to the Foundation during community events. This role involves helping with event booth setup and takedown, engaging with event attendees, and supporting general event activities as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with set up, break down, and maintenance of booths (tables, banners, displays, etc.) during events
- Represent the Foundation in a friendly and professional manner
- Greet and talk with attendees about the Foundation’s mission, its endeavors in support of Veterans, our nonprofit organization, and answer general questions
- Collect lead information and assist with contact data entry if needed
- Distribute informational materials, flyers, and giveaways
- Help with logistics and any on-the-spot needs during the event
- Relay inquiries to appropriate team member and work as part of a supportive and collaborative volunteer team
- Act as an ambassador, maintaining a polished appearance and positive attitude.
Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be dependable, punctual, and willing to lend a hand wherever needed
- Energetic, friendly, confident, strong interpersonal skills, enjoy talking to strangers, and representing a cause
- Be physically able to assist with lifting (up to 25 lbs.) setting up booth materials and can stand for reasonably long periods of time.
- Have a positive attitude and passion for supporting Veterans
- The Foundation participates in an average of 10 events per year. Be available on occasional weekends and weekday evenings for events as necessitated.
Time Commitment:
Time commitment varies by event. Most events are 3–5 hours, including setup and takedown. Volunteers are informed with advance notice of upcoming events and are asked to confirm availability around their personal schedules.
Location:
Silicon Valley - the majority of which are held in Santa Clara County, Los Gatos and its surrounding communities.
