Maternal Mental Health NOW’s Board of Directors provides leadership in the areas of fundraising, organizational development, and strategic planning. Board service offers a meaningful opportunity to positively impact our community while experiencing personal and professional growth. Responsibilities
- Approve all statements that reflect the mission and purpose of the organization
- Determine and support long-range strategic planning
- Ensure mission alignment of all programming
- Review and approve the annual budget
- Approve and support annual fundraising goals
- Select, support, and evaluate the Executive Director
- Serve as an ambassador for the organization and make connections
Expectations
- Attend at least 66% of meetings (six meetings per year – 4 on zoom, 2 in person)
- Attend annual retreat
- Serve on at least one subcommittee, i.e., Fundraising, Finance or Governance (six meetings per year on zoom)
- Give an annual contribution representing a personal stretch gift
- Support fund development activities
Qualifications
- Passion for perinatal mental health and equitable access to care
- Alignment with organizational values
- Commitment to good governance, transparency, and ethical financial stewardship
- Willingness to engage in relationship building and donor stewardship
- Experience in finance, law, medical, and marketing fields is a plus
