Role Overview

Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation of leaders, creators, and changemakers? As a Youth Engagement Mentor, you will be the driving force behind empowering young people to unlock their full potential. You will act as a trusted advisor, facilitator, and advocate—helping youth build essential life skills, navigate challenges, and actively participate in community programs.

Your goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and high-energy environment where young people feel heard, valued, and motivated to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Mentorship & Support: Provide one-on-one and group mentorship to youth, helping them set personal, educational, and career goals.
• Program Facilitation: Lead and facilitate interactive workshops, recreational activities, and leadership development programs.
• Active Engagement: Reach out to local youth communities to encourage participation in organization-led initiatives, events, and projects.
• Safe Space Creation: Foster a supportive, inclusive, and culturally respectful environment where diverse youth feel safe to express themselves.
• Progress Tracking & Resource Connection: Monitor youth progress, document key milestones, and connect them with external resources (e.g., mental health services, tutoring, career counseling) when needed.
• Advocacy: Act as a bridge between the youth and organization leadership, ensuring young voices are actively shaping program decisions.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

• Experience: [X] years of experience working directly with youth (e.g., coaching, teaching, community organizing, camp counseling, or social work).
• Empathy & Active Listening: A genuine ability to connect with young people from diverse backgrounds without judgment.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adjust your style to connect with youth and professional stakeholders alike.
• Problem-Solving & De-escalation: Calm under pressure, with a knack for conflict resolution and guiding youth through challenging moments.
• Collaboration: A team-player attitude, ready to collaborate with schools, families, and community partners.
