Guardian Hospice volunteers are vital members of our team who help the families we serve deal with illness, grief, and loss. Whether you choose to work directly with patients and families, or to participate in any other Guardian Hospice volunteer opportunity, you will be making a difference in someone's life!
Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:
Patient Care Volunteers: Companionship, listening, preparing meals, and just being "present" to the patient.
Vigil Volunteers: Being present during the dying process so that no one has to die alone.
Bereavement Volunteers: Bereavement support to family members after their loved one has died. Offering Bereavement Coordinator help with bereavement calls and sending letters to families.
Office Volunteers: Work in the Guardian Hospice office, and assist with tasks such as filing, photocopying, assisting with mailings, etc.
Due to COVID-19: We require our volunteers to be vaccinated if comfortable with visiting patients in facilities and homes.
