Position Overview

YesLiberia is seeking a detail-oriented Grant Prospect Research & Funder Relations Intern to focus on expanding our donor network and establishing structured outreach strategies. This role is ideal for individuals interested in philanthropic research, business development, donor stewardship, and relationship management. The intern will focus on identifying grantmakers and grant opportunities, establishing standard outreach procedures, and managing donor engagement communications.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Grant Research & Identification: Research and identify new funding opportunities across private/family foundations, corporate CSR initiatives, educational institutions, civic clubs, religious organizations, and community funds aligned with YesLiberia’s mission.
2. Eligibility & Alignment Evaluation: Analyze prospective grant makers and published grant application requirements and goals, geographic focus, eligibility guidelines, average award sizes, as well as application cycles and deadlines.
3. Standard Approach Procedure (SAP) Development: Draft and refine standard guidelines for researching, initiating contact with, following up with, and documenting relationships with prospective institutional funders.
4. Funder Communications & Outreach: Assist with drafting initial inquiries, scheduling outreach meetings, documenting meeting minutes, and logging engagement histories with potential partners.
5. Prospect Pipeline Re-engagement: Review pending or inactive funder leads to identify strategic follow-up opportunities and keep relationships moving forward.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Strong research, analytical, and written communication skills.
• Organized and capable of managing and tracking real and potential opportunities.
• Comfortable reaching out to prospective organizational partners.
• Proficient with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office tools.
• Interest in nonprofit fundraising, corporate social responsibility, or donor relations.
