Volunteer with Oak City Cares in Basic Needs

Basic Needs volunteers help manage the flow of the laundry and shower services, provide complimentary supplies toguests, clean routinely, and work with staff to keep a smooth flow of services in the laundry and shower areas.

Some of the key responsibilities for this position are:

• Communicate with staff to manage appropriate entry to this area
• Greet guests warmly
• Write guest’s name on designated wipe board to indicate which shower room or laundry machine they are using
• Provide complimentary supplies (towels, toiletries, detergent, fabric softener, etc.)
• Communicate any needed supplies to staff
• Clean routinely following Oak City Cares protocols
• Work with staff and volunteers to manage a steady flow of services
