Be a Calming presence at the end of life

Miller Hospice has a growing team of kind and caring people to help terminally ill patients and their families - just by being there at the end of life. Our desire is to see that no one dies all alone - whether in a home, hospital, nursing home, VA center.

'Golden hour' (vigil) volunteers should be comfortable around death and dying and be able to support the patient and family's unique needs during this important time. If not in a home setting, it most likely will come down to holding a hand or playing soft music on your phone. Just being present.

Orientation and training provided. Golden hour volunteers will first go through the process of becoming Miller Hospice Volunteers.
