Location: Various event locations in North Carolina - Lake Norman/Charlotte and Asheville/Fairview areas.

Overview:

Help create memorable outdoor experiences for kids and families! OWL Outdoors is looking for a Kids Club Event Coordinator & Assistant to support and organize fun, educational events that encourage environmental stewardship. Volunteers in this role can choose to help plan events, attend them, or both!

Responsibilities:

Event Coordination (Planning & Research):

• Identify and recommend local outdoor or nature-based events for OWL Kids Club members.
• Contact event organizers to arrange OWL’s participation.
• Maintain and update the Kids Club event calendar with approved activities.

Event Assistance (On-Site Support):

• Set up and help run Kids Club events, ensuring an engaging experience for participants.
• Assist with crafts, activities, and games related to nature and environmental education.
• Greet families and provide information about OWL Outdoors programs.
• Encourage environmental stewardship by engaging with children in fun, nature-focused discussions.

Qualifications:

• Enthusiasm for working with children and families in an outdoor setting.
• Strong organizational and communication skills (for those involved in planning).
• Friendly and approachable personality.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience in event planning, education, or environmental programs (a plus but not required).
