Community Outreach & Events Volunteer

Organization: A Healthier You, Inc. (AHY)

Location: Prince George's County, MD & the DMV (In-Person)

Time Commitment: Approximately 4–8 hours per month (typically 2–3 community events each month)

A Healthier You, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving mental, emotional, physical, financial, social, and spiritual well-being through accessible wellness education and community partnerships.

Position Summary

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers who enjoy engaging with people and representing our organization at community events. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit work, public health, community engagement, event planning, or wellness.

As a Community Outreach & Events Volunteer, you'll help us create a welcoming experience while increasing awareness of A Healthier You, Inc. throughout the DMV.

Responsibilities

• Represent A Healthier You, Inc. at community events, health fairs, and wellness festivals
• Assist with event setup and breakdown
• Welcome and engage with community members
• Share information about AHY's programs and services
• Distribute flyers and educational materials
• Help with event registration and attendee check-in (when applicable)
• Take photos and short videos for social media and marketing
• Assist with transporting or organizing event materials as needed
• Support staff and instructors during community wellness events

Qualifications

We're looking for volunteers who are:

• Friendly and dependable
• Comfortable speaking with people from diverse backgrounds
• Organized and willing to help wherever needed
• Passionate about community wellness and service
• Able to attend approximately 2–3 community events per month throughout the DMV

Photography or social media experience is a plus, but not required.
