🎥 Student Photographer/Videographer– Onsite (Washington, D.C. Ward 8)

🎥 Role Summary Are you a student looking to build your portfolio, earn school credit, or use your creative eye for social good? The JJ Center is looking for Photographer/Videographer to help us document our "Farmers Market" style food distributions right here in Ward 8.

We have a team of editors ready to handle the final polish—we just need you on the ground to capture the heartbeat of our mission. By capturing high-quality photos and videos of our community in action, you will help us expand our reach beyond word-of-mouth, ensuring that more neighbors know where to find free food and support. You’ll be a direct contributor to the fight against food apartheid in our nation’s capital.

💻 Training & Onboarding All volunteers participate in our virtual onboarding training before starting. This ensures you understand our Community Haven culture and be prepared to serve the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Field Documentation: Capture high-quality raw footage and photos of food distribution, volunteer interactions, and the "market" setup.
• Storytelling: Identify beautiful moments that highlight our mission of radical inclusion and community abundance.
• Digital Asset Management: Upload raw files to our shared folders for our editing team to transform into social media content.

Current Service Windows Opportunities

• Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM (Weekly)
• Weekdays (Mon-Wed): 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM (Periodically)

Qualifications

• Eye for Detail: Experience with a smartphone camera or professional gear (both are welcome!).
• Empathy: A commitment to capturing our neighbors with dignity and honor.
• Reliability: A consistent presence so we can keep our digital storytelling active.
