New Life Serenity Connections (NLSC) is seeking a compassionate and dependable Volunteer Member Services Coordinator to help women navigate their experience with our organization.

The Member Services Coordinator is often one of the first people a prospective member meets and remains an important point of connection throughout her membership. We are looking for someone who can listen without judgment, build trusting relationships, help members identify their goals and needs, and connect them with programs, resources, and opportunities that can help them move forward.

Because connection and understanding are central to this role, lived experience with substance use disorder, sobriety, or recovery is an important requirement for this position. Experience in casework, peer support, recovery support, advocacy, resource navigation, community services, or a similar helping role is especially valuable.

Role Summary

As a Volunteer Member Services Coordinator, you will help members feel welcomed, connected, and empowered from their first interaction with NLSC.

You will guide prospective members through intake and onboarding, learn about their goals and circumstances, and help identify programs and opportunities that may be a good fit. Once members are enrolled, you will maintain regular communication, help them recognize progress and barriers, navigate resources, and develop individualized success plans based on their own goals and aspirations.

This volunteer role combines member engagement, peer support, casework, advocacy, resource navigation, empowerment coaching, and program coordination. It requires empathy, professionalism, good judgment, strong boundaries, and the ability to respectfully work alongside women at different stages of sobriety and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities

Member Intake & Onboarding

• Schedule and facilitate interviews with prospective members.
• Assess fit for the organization and identify suitable programs.
• Onboard qualified members into our programs.
• Acquire and enter information needed to maintain our CRM systems.
• Collect feedback and testimonials to help improve our programs.
• Create a welcoming, respectful, and encouraging experience for new members.

Member Engagement & Relationship Building

• Develop strong relationships with members and serve as a primary point of contact.
• Conduct regular check-ins to understand members' needs, progress, goals, and challenges.
• Collaborate with members to create individualized success plans.
• Help identify barriers and develop practical strategies for moving forward.
• Encourage continued engagement with NLSC programs, resources, and opportunities.

Advocacy & Resource Navigation

• Advocate for members within the organization and help ensure their needs are heard and appropriately addressed.
• Guide members in accessing relevant resources and services both within NLSC and in the community.
• Help members understand available options while empowering them to make decisions that are right for their individual circumstances.

Empowerment Coaching

• Work with members to identify meaningful goals and ways to recognize progress.
• Regularly review progress and help members adjust strategies when challenges arise.
• Recognize and celebrate accomplishments while helping identify areas where additional resources, encouragement, or support may be beneficial.

Collaboration & Program Support

• Work closely with the Membership Team and other NLSC volunteers and leaders to provide a coordinated member experience.
• Share insights and feedback about member needs and program effectiveness.
• Assist with educational workshops and programs designed to empower members with useful skills and knowledge.
• Help identify community organizations and resources that may benefit NLSC members.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and timely records of member interactions, progress, and success stories.
• Assist with reports on member engagement, success metrics, and program effectiveness.
• Handle member information with a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and care.

Lived Experience

New Life Serenity Connections believes lived experience can create a powerful foundation for connection, understanding, and hope.

For this position, we are seeking someone with personal lived experience related to substance use disorder, sobriety, or recovery who is comfortable using that experience appropriately to inform their work with members.

We do not expect your journey to look like anyone else's. What matters is that you are able to approach other women with empathy and without judgment, respect different pathways to sobriety, maintain appropriate boundaries, and focus on empowering each member to define and pursue her own goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in casework, peer support, recovery support, advocacy, resource navigation, community services, or a related helping role.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Empathetic and compassionate approach to member support.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with addiction recovery and resources available to individuals in sobriety is a plus.
• Experience with MS Office Suite and CRM systems, or a strong willingness to learn.
• Availability during EST office hours and occasional weekend team meetings.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, empathy, and appropriate boundaries.
