About One Good Turn Global Health

One Good Turn Global Health (OGT) is a nonprofit organization implementing community-led health and education programs worldwide. Since its founding in 2016, OGT has completed 70 medical education projects in 13 countries across 4 continents.

We are currently implementing our SHARE (School Health Agency, Resources, and Education) Program in Kenya, and working toward global expansion. SHARE trains local teachers, equipping them with the knowledge and resources to serve as School Health Officers (SHOs) and provide essential health education and care within their schools. To date, SHARE has successfully trained 523 teachers across 133 schools, reaching 53,000 students.

    About the Role

You will play a direct role in supporting OGT as we amplify our voice and presence in the global health community and expand the reach of the SHARE Program.

    • Support the development and maintenance of OGT's communications calendar across social media
    • Help organize and maintain OGT's shared Communications Google Drive, including folder structures, naming, and photo organization
    • Support content for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn that reflects the voice and values of OGT and the SHARE Program
    • Support the strategic positioning of OGT and our Executive Director on LinkedIn as thought leaders in global health and school health programs
    • Research relevant awareness days, sector trends, strategies, and conversations to amplify OGT visibility. Track social media interaction and growth and provide monthly updates.
    • Contribute ideas for communications campaigns and bring your perspective to how we tell our story
    • Assist with newsletters, impact updates, and other external-facing communications materials including one-pagers, program briefs, and presentations that represent OGT and SHARE to outside audiences
    • Document team processes so workflows are clear and accessible across the organization
    • Keep OGT's communications and development outreach tracker up to date and accurate
    • Work independently, identify gaps, and proactively flag areas where you can add value without waiting to be asked
    • Assist with email communications, stakeholder outreach, and general communications support as needed
    • You will have space to contribute your own ideas, build systems the team continues to use long after your internship ends, and leave with a portfolio of work you are proud of

    Qualifications

    • Recent graduate or current student in global health, public health, international development, communications, or a related field; we are open to the best candidate regardless of where you are in your journey
    • Highly organized and systems-oriented with a proactive, self-directed approach
    • Able to work independently, identify gaps, and take initiative without being asked
    • Experience managing or contributing to social media accounts for a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
    • Comfortable working asynchronously in a fully remote environment with flexible hours
    • Proficiency in Canva and Google Workspace (Docs, Drive, Sheets, Slides)
    • Prior experience in a nonprofit or NGO environment strongly preferred
    • Genuine passion for global health and education and OGT’s mission
    • Graphic design skills are a significant plus and will strengthen your application

    Compensation

This is currently an unpaid internship. Academic credit is welcomed and supported. We will provide any documentation required by your university. If your institution offers scholarships or stipends we are happy to support that process. At the three-month mark, we will conduct a performance review that includes the opportunity to discuss stipend compensation. Our ideal candidate is someone who is excited to grow in this role and sees themselves staying on for a year at minimum.
