Your Four-Legged Friend Can Change Someone's Day w/ Uplift Hospice

There are things a well-loved dog or gentle cat can do that no medication can replicate. A soft coat to pet. A tail that wags without condition. A warm body that settles beside someone who just needs to feel less alone. At Uplift Hospice, our pet therapy program brings moments of pure joy to patients who light up the moment an animal walks into the room.

We are looking for volunteers with certified therapy animals who want to make weekly or biweekly visits to patients in their homes or care facilities across the Houston area. Visits are gentle and unhurried — no agenda, just presence.

Requirements: Therapy animal certification through a recognized organization (Pet Partners, Alliance of Therapy Dogs, or equivalent). Animals must be current on vaccinations and have a calm, predictable temperament. Handlers must be comfortable in care settings.
